Rev. Dr. Avery Cardinal Dulles, S.J. Engages with the Question: How Do You Define "Religion?"
Cardinal Avery Dulles discusses the many ways that different people define the word religion, then gives his own personal definition which is “a relationship to some higher powers of the world of ordinary experience whom we believe in and reverence and feel obliged to obey.” He then speaks about this definition and its relation to a few religions and to his own life.
