Dr. Paul Lakeland Engages with the Question: What Contributions Have American Catholic Theologians Made to the Church at Large?
Dr. Paul Lakeland discusses Catholicism in America today by labeling it as “a major minority church.” He then speaks about the contributions American theologians have made to the Church at large, such as showcasing the compatibility of democracy with Catholicism. He names John Courtney Murray as a very important influence upon the Vatican Council document on religious freedom and therefore upon the Church today. He also speaks on the impact both American feminist and Latino/Latina theologians have had on the Catholic Church.
