Cardinal Avery Dulles discusses his belief that there is no necessity to prove the existence of God to people, as they turn to God spontaneously or are taught that God exists. However, he speaks about what he calls the proof of God in the world, such as the argument of contingency, which is the idea that the first beings must have been created by something that exists by its own power and is not contingent on anything else.
