Full view of the bronze, brass and copper grate divider that was on the main floor of the library, between circulation and the reading lounge/periodicals section.
Notes
This decorative screen is fashioned out of three metals - bronze, brass and copper - and highlights the development of language and the written word. It depicts symbols of primitive man cutting signs in stone, a scriptorium (monk), and early printing press and figures representing literature, science, music and art. It was created by American artist Lumen Martin Winter. Image date is approximate.
