For those who would like to join, Rabbi Suri Krieger and Rev. David Spollett will be celebrating an Interfaith Service at the Egan Chapel.

Suri Levow Krieger is a dynamic, pluralistic Rabbi, spiritual teacher and educator. Having both Rabbinc ordination and a PHD in Psycho-educational Process, Rabbi Suri’s mission is to infuse traditional religious ritual with spiritually innovative and personally meaningful practice. She challenges traditional text until it yields current meaning, and works proactively towards tikun olam, that is, social action.

Interfaith outreach and diversity are particularly part of her work towards a more inclusive, tolerant and integrated Judaism.

Suri Levow Krieger is the pulpit Rabbi of Kerhonkson Synagogue, in upstate New York, and Chavurat Bet Chai in Westchester, NY. She also teaches at Sacred Heart University, University of Bridgeport and the Merkaz Hebrew High School of Bridgeport. Her first love and connection to Judaism has always been through the arts; she was the music and drama director at Solomon Schechter Day School, Bergen County, NJ for some 20 years.

The Reverend David W. Spollett is the Pastor of First Church, United Church of Christ (UCC), in Fairfield where he has served since 1984. He is a Lecturer on the faculty of Yale Divinity School and has taught Reformation history and theology at Fairfield University. Spollett has served on the Executive Council of the United Church Christ as well its Board of Directors for Local Church Ministries and as Moderator of the Connecticut Conference, UCC. In 1988 he opened the doors of the church buildings so that people who were homeless could find a place to sleep and was co-founder of Operation Hope, an emergency shelter and homelessness prevention agency in Fairfield. A leader in ecumenical and interfaith relations, he has lead interfaith trips to Israel and spent his first sabbatical studying at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. Since 2008 he has worked in partnership with the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood in Machui, Zanzibar serving the majority Muslim population with health and educational services.
