Description
The program will focus on the humanitarian situation in Lebanon, host country of thousands of refugees coming from Palestine, Iraq and Syria. The presentation will start with a short historical overview of post-war Lebanon and the implication of the regional conflicts on its territory. We will then discuss the role of both the civil society actors and the government in solving the various humanitarian issues caused by the refugees' influx.

Facilitator:
Hélène Bohyn comes from Belgium and has been living in Lebanon for 3 years. She holds a Master degree in International Relations from St-Joseph University of Beirut. Hélène became involved in humanitarian projects through her work with Iraqi refugees within local NGOs. She is currently working on a research project on Human Trafficking in the Middle East within the International Labor Organization.
