SANA (Latin, to heal) is dedicated to curating creative art envisioned and produced by the nursing community. It is our mission to achieve self-actualization through nursing art, to encourage expressions of self-care and the care of others, and to heal each other and the communities of whom we serve.
Now accepting submissions for the Fall 2020 Issue!
SANA invites you to submit your work in all genres related to the art and practice of nursing and/or creative work on any theme and subject written by nurses. We welcome submissions of fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry, as well as multi-genre and experimental work and “flash” short pieces. We are also open to work that is experimental and that includes photos, audio, visuals, or video. For submissions that cannot be uploaded to the application portal, please email email@example.com.
Please take care not to include any information that might identify a patient or violate a patient’s privacy rights and consider fictionalizing or changing unique identifiers. For nonfiction submissions, please include a note if patient identifiers have been changed. Please submit multiple short pieces as one Word document and please include your name and contact information on the submission itself. Our reading period is January through April and our annual deadline is in May. For any questions, please email the editor at: firstname.lastname@example.org. SANA is an annual publication based in the Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies at Fairfield University.
