Description
The Common Data Set is a survey distributed annually to U.S colleges and universities by the Common Data Set Initiative, a collaboration directed by The College Board, Peterson's, and U.S. News & World Report. The CDS includes standard data items and definitions that are intended to improve the accuracy, quality, and comparability of institutional information. Participating colleges complete the CDS form each year and then release their data independently. Topics covered include enrollment and persistence; first-year admission; transfer admission; academic offerings and policies; student life; annual expenses; financial aid; instructional faculty and class size; and degrees conferred.
