Description
Handwritten record of day-to-day events by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Fairfield University. [Please note: the written diary ends on page 99; pages 100-150 are blank and so are not included here.]
Notes
Fairfield University admitted its first freshman class in 1947, celebrating its first commencement in 1951. Father Langguth, already an administrator at Fairfield Prep, came to the University in 1947 and took over the role of Dean of Freshman, unofficial Provost, and finally Dean of the College. Father Healey succeeded Father Langguth as Dean of the College and remained in that position until 1962.
