New Frontiers was established as a student journal which aimed to offer a wide variety of topics and formats, with contributions from many different departments on campus. The journal includes scholarly essays, poetry, fiction, and editorials. By 1960, contributions were also accepted from writers outside the university community. It was published seasonally during the school year and ran from Spring 1954 (Vol. 1, No. 1) through Summer 1966 (Vol. 11, No. 2).
