Description
Rev. William E. Fitzgerald, S.J. in his sermon at the Baccalaureate Exercises told the Class of 1951, "Your education has not only been founded upon first principles that set you distinctly apart as a spiritual person, but you have learned also the art of living according to spiritual principles."

This photograph was taken during the Baccalaureate Exercises at Sacred Heart Church in Bridgeport. This picture is one of a series of photographs taken during Fairfield University's First Commencement in June 1951.
