Description

The Student Environmental Alliance at LUC has dedicated their time and energy throughout the 2011-2012 academic year to educate fellow students on the environmental and social justice issues behind bottled water and to inspire them to form a united front to demand that the sale of bottled water comes to an end on the LUC campus. The Unified Student Government Association passed a resolution in December 2011 that stated concern for the issue and called for a referendum vote, and LUC students voted to UnCapLUC and ban the sale of bottled water on campus. Students and staff from both Office of Sustainability and the USGA Social Justice Committee are partnering to work with Finance, Dining Services, and other departments to bring this change into effect within the near future.
