Description/Summary
During the Spring 2022 semester, SuSTEMability fellows and their mentors studied sustainable engineering solutions and shared their knowledge with underrepresented middle and high school students through an outreach program. One of the goals of the SuSTEMability program was to increase interest in STEM and sustainability among the participating K-12 students and fellows. As a part of this program, the book “Sustainability” was created by one of the fellows, Abigail Diltz, with the guidance of their mentor, Dr. Elif Kongar, to further explain to students the definitions of sustainability and renewable energy technologies. The book focuses on the importance of sustainable solutions and aims at encouraging students to promote sustainability in their own lives.
