Abstract
What is your main academic concern?
Dr. Maria Pilar Aquino discuses her concern that theological development should consider cultural diversity and include the talents of both men and women to advance justice and human dignity. Aquino also addresses her concern about globalization and its effects on the poor and women in a society where most resources are controlled by men. Lastly, she discusses her concern that there is a need to include more women in theological conversation and academics, especially those of minority groups.

About the Interviewee:
Maria Pilar Aquino, S.T.D. currently teaches at the University of San Diego. She is a Catholic Latina Theologian whose primary areas are liberation theologies, social ethics, and feminist theologies, with special interests in intercultural approaches, conflict transformation, and religious peacebuilding studies. She was co-founder and first woman president of the Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians of the United States and has authored more than fifty books and Journal articles.
About the Interviewer:
Dr. Alfred Benney is a professor of Religious Studies at Fairfield University. He has a Ph.D in Theology from the Hartford Seminary Foundation and teaches courses in Non-Traditional American Religions and Christian Religious Thought. His research interests include "how people learn"; "the appropriate use of technology in teaching/learning" and "myth as explanatory narrative". He has published work on teaching with technology.
