The collection includes a digitized recording of the Glee Club’s Klein Memorial Concert of April 9, 1965; Glee Club concert programs and photographs from 1963 to 1973; programs from other campus events of the mid-1960’s; meeting minutes and reports from the Fairfield University Alumni Association of the early 1970’s; and Admissions Office correspondence, statistics, and publications from the 1960’s and 1970’s, including a set of application kits.

Frederick H. Lorensen received his bachelor’s degree from Fairfield in 1965. As an undergraduate, he was a four-year member of the Glee Club, serving as President in his senior year. He was the 1965 recipient of St. Ignatius Loyola Medal, the highest honor awarded by Fairfield University to a graduating senior. In 1967, Lorensen became the first layperson ever to be hired as a Fairfield admissions officer. During his tenure, he was instrumental in recruiting the first class of women to be admitted to the College of Arts and Sciences. From 1970 to 1973, he served on the Board of Directors of the Fairfield University Alumni Association, including two terms as Vice President. From 1976 to 1979, he served as Assistant Director of Admissions at Fairfield, including a period as Acting Director in 1977. In 1979, he became Director of Admissions at Duquesne University, and in 1991, he became Duquesne’s Director of Freshman Development and Special Student Services. He retired from Duquesne in 2012.
